Comprehensive Reading Evaluation
This educational testing measures the cognitive processes associated with reading, spelling, comprehension and writing. Many of the assessment tools in this battery measure the same cognitive processes used for a dyslexia testing. During the entire 3-4 hour assessment, our examiner will work 1-on-1 with your child to complete the the battery. A typical Diagnostic Assessment takes on average, with breaks, about 3-4 hours to administer. Specific areas measured may include: • Phonemic/phonological awareness • Phonics • Phonological memory • Phonological processing speed -rapid automatic naming • Word analysis (ability to sound out unfamiliar words) • Word identification • Spelling • Contextual reading accuracy, rate, and fluency • Oral reading comprehension • Silent reading comprehension • Listening comprehension • Receptive vocabulary • Expressive vocabulary • Short-term memory • Writing • Visual-motor processing
