DVMDr. Gagnon is our Medical Director. She graduated from the University of Montreal, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After completing a one year internship at the Pittsburgh Zoo and one year at The Metropolitin Veterinary Hospital in Pittsburgh doing emergency medicine, Dr. Gagnon arrived in Louisville in 1994. She acquired Fairleigh Pet Center from Dr. Henry Fairleigh and the practice took a brand new direction. She likes to say veterinary medicine is not only a science, but also an art. Dr. Gagnon realizes that every pet has his or her own individual personality. She believes that in order to help one specific pet, it is necessary to adapt to his or her specific behavior. Dr. Gagnon's favorite areas of expertise are internal medicine, dermatology and behavior problems. She loves to help owner's with their geriatric pets, enabling them to live a long and healthy life. She likes working with both dogs and cats, enjoying the different attributes each one brings. At home, Dr. Gagnon has two dogs, Zoe & Roscoe, nine cats, a horse, a donkey, and two goats. Alexandra, her grown daughter who attends University of Louisville, also works at the practice.
